Of course economical is not always the fastest. The train is faster. Only you can decide which is more important to you, economy or speed.

"...Eurolines- The bus has specials that are hard to beat..." The Thalys high-speed train can beat it.
If you book well in advance (90 days allowed) you can often get fares on the Thalys for as little as 25 euros. The Thalys has direct trains between Paris and Amsterdam and the journey takes 3 hours 15 minutes. http://www.thalys.com

Connie. I am not sure I understand your post, I paid 30 euros for a ticket from Amsterdam to Paris this past summer. I thought that was a great deal, and wouldn't have considered a bus that might have been cheaper but would use a almost a whole day of my vacation. You say you would have paid 50 euros?

Occasionally Thalys offers special discount fares for a limited time period, but the cheapest regular year-round discount fare for Paris-Amsterdam is €35.00. Thalys trains do not stop at CDG. You will have to go into Paris and depart from Gare du Nord. You can take a RER B suburban train directly from CDG to Gare du Nord. The fare is €9.25. For a zoomable map of the Metro and RER system, go here: http://tinyurl.com/6xmvms4. Discount fare tickets are non-exchangeable and non-refundable. If your plane is late and you miss your train, you'll have to buy a full fare ticket (€129.00) on a later train. Be sure to allow plenty of connection time (four hours) between your scheduled arrival at CDG and your scheduled departure from Gare du Nord.
