Travel from Los Angeles to Munich through London Airport. Immigration in London?

I am rather new to European travel. I am flying on Air New Zealand from LA to London, have a 2-hour layover and then fly on the Munich on Lufthansa. Do I have to go though immigration control in London? If so, do I need my bag which is being checked? Or is it simply a change of gates at London? My understanding is that both airlines use Terminal 1.

Thanks,

Mike

Air New Zealand and Lufthansa are part of the same alliance so your bags will be checked through to your final destination, so you won't see them again until you arrive in Munich.
You won't have to go through immigration or customs at Heathrow, but you will have to go through a security clearance at Heathrow before arriving at your gate for Munich.

I have replied to an identical post made in the 'England' section.

Thanks to both of you very much. I was hoping that would be the answer.
