Travel Clothes for Tall Women

I have a horrible time finding travel pants that are long enough. I would love to get a pair or two in the "tech" fabrics that dry quickly and travel well. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am a size 8 and am 5'10" (I have a long inseam). Thanks

Emily - I'm tall too and have trouble getting pants that are long enough. I get most of my pants from LLBean as they have some styles in Medium Tall and Tall lengths. Good luck!

Emily,

I am your same size and height. I usually wear a 34" inseam with flat shoes. www.Lucy.com has great travel fabrics and pants by length. I have a couple of pairs of pants from them.

Good luck! :)

I second Lucy as a place to find quick dry LONG pants.

You can shop on line if there isn't a store in your town.

What time of year are you travelling? Capris work very well on women with long legs and travel well during warmer seasons. I don't think I took any pants other than capris along when we went to Italy. And still wore my skirt most of the time.

A friend of mine is very tall and she says that she has some North Face pants that are made for tall women.

Eddie Bauer also makes "talls", and has a surprisingly good selection of pants for women, both in tech fabrics and regular casual pants.

My favorites for travel are the "slim-fit" pants, which have side zip, trim cut, and no pockets or waistband. They pack in a small space, and the cotton-Lycra fabric resists wrinkles and dries quickly when I wash them out. Not in hours, but they do dry overnight. And they don't look like my hiking pants.

I am also very tall and have a 34 1/2 inch inseam. I have to try on pants before I buy since I am a bit hippy. So after searching at all the stores in my town (REI etc.) and not finding women's tall convertible pants that I liked, I tried on a men's convertible pant as a last ditch effort prior to ordering on-line. I couldn't believe it, but they actually worked out quite well. So you could always try that. They are not very dressy, but they will do the part for what I need them for.
