Anyone have to prove of insurance medical amounts to travel into prague on bus tour orginating in germany. claimed if could not show letter from insurance company -would have to pay a fee of 129.thanks
I took the bus from Nuremberg, Germany to Prague. I had my insurance card with me just in case, but I did not have to show it.
For some reason I find your posting a little awkward to read. If it is because English is not your native language, then I apologize. If the question is about proving insurance when entering Prague, from our experience we did not need it. Two years we took the bus from Nurenburg to Prague. At one point the bus was stopped by a policy van, officers can on board and checked passport, and left. No passport check when arriving in Prague and no question about any insurance. This was not a bus tour but regular bus service. Perhaps the insurance letter is a requirement of the tour company.
kathi, I also found your post a bit hard to understand, but I believe I have the intended meaning. To answer your question, NO, I have never had to provide "proof of medical insurance" when travelling on bus tours in Europe. I assume you'll be obtaining medical insurance to cover your overall trip to Europe? That should be perfectly adequate to satisfy the bus tour company in Germany. Just show them the documents that were provided with your travel insurance policy. It's probably just a "legal thing" to ensure that they're not responsible for any medical costs for their passengers in the event of an accident or whatever. If that doesn't satisfy them, I'd find another tour firm. Good luck and happy travels!
