Travel arrangement question

Has anyone heard of, or dealt with, a company online called hoteltravel.com? I found them on the internet and am thinking of arranging a hotel room in Munich, but wanted to know if they were a legit company. If you haven't heard of them, do you know how I could find out about them?

Found this on google:

HotelTravel.com Informative

"HotelTravel.com robbed me of $710!!! - Hotel Travel Booking Agency

They are not a real website!!! They robbed me of $710!!! When I tried to dispute it with their online help chat center they gave me a number to call in thailand and told me it was my fault, I booked it wrong and they would not give me my money back. Don't go through them, no matter how legit they look. If you call their USA numbers you will find that they are all fax numbers. I have been tricked, don't let yourself be as well."

Didnt find any GOOD reviews on them.
They also show an association with asiarooms.com, which is known to be shady.
I would use a different website if I were you!

I wouldn't use any booking website. I find their selections are usually limited to more expensive properties and savings are inflated. Sometimes breakfast, which any legitimate hotel in Germany includes, is left off to make the price look lower, and then added back at an exorbitant price.

I prefer to deal with the hotel directly. In smaller towns you can find a list of accommodations with email addresses on the town website, usually www. town_name. de. In Munich, one source is www.muenchen.de. You can get it to display in English.

By the way, I am currently arranging my latest trip to Germany (nights 85-97, this century). All accommodations have been arranged directly with the hotel.

Susan, I never use agencies to book hotels, although of course there are reputable ones, but as pointed out they often charge more, or only feature bigger or chain hotels.
I would NEVER pay up front either, one night deposit thats my max.

Why not go onto tripadvisor.com and go to the German Forums and check out their hotel reveiws. You can read all the reviews, then contact the hotels directly by just googleing the names of the ones that interest you. It is easy .
