travel after Prague: advice

My husband and I are committed to being in Prague (for work) in mid-August. We'd like to spend 7-10 additional days in Europe following Prague. Does anyone have any advice on where we should spend our time? We were thinking perhaps Vienna and then northern Italy, but we're completely open to other options (including an additional flight within Europe if necessary). Neither of us has spent much time in Europe.

For 7-10 days why fly anywhere when you have such a rich around you with easy transportation. You have southern Germany and, Vienna, as you mentioned. Or swing around to Budapest or north into Poland or around Berlin. With 7 -10 travelings you do not want to spend whole days on trains or planes. Where is your return flight?

Two of the cities I was in in May are Munich and Milan. I spent 6 days in each and there were still things I didn't see or do. I vote for southern Germany and northern Italy but wherever you go will be great. Enjoy!

You say you haven't spent much time in Europe. If you haven't seen London and Paris you can do them in 7 to 10 days. Fly to London then go by Eurostar train to Paris. If you don't find cheap flight to London from Prague Try Ryan Air from Brno. If you have already seen London and Paris do cities in relative proximity to Prague to save on travel time. Let's say Vienna and Budapest. Or Dresden and Berlin.
