does anyone know what is the best way to get from Ljubljana to Ukanc ( a sm town on the western side of Lk Bohinj). It seems the train only goes part way and then to transfer to a bus that makes about 20 stops before you get there. Any suggestions. Thanks

Ukanc is not really a town, more like a tiny hamlet, the bus is the only way to get there other than driving a car. You could also take the bus all the way, it would be much faster as the train does a bit of a detour to get to the Bohinj area from Ljubljana. As for the stops, it’s not that bad; apart from the main bus stations in larger towns, stops are usually on request.

For exploring that area and getting to Ukanc, you really need a car.
