How many will be traveling with you? We had a party of five and rented a car in Ireland. It was a riot! We loved being free to drive wherever we wanted and we visited many small villages and LOVED the countryside. However, it wasn't cheap. You may consider trading homes with someone in the area if you are planning on staying in one spot and doing day trips. What kind of book?
