Transfer time: Traveling from Lauterbrunnen to Paris

Hi,

I am traveling from Lauterbrunnen to Paris (via train) in August.

If Ifollow the scheduled outlined below, there is 5 min. transfer in Interlaken and 6 minutes transfer in Basel. Having never been to either the Interlaken or Basel train station, will I have enough to time to make my next train?

Amy,

Those transfer times should be perfectly adequate (they wouldn't have scheduled them that way if there was an issue). Some comments....

  • Interlaken Ost - the station is quite small. You shouldn't have any trouble locating the train to Basel, as it will likely be one of the "fast" models and perhaps the only other train there.
  • Basel SBB - it appears that your train from Interlaken will arrive on Platform 5 and your next train will depart from Platform 6. Therefore it should be a simple matter of walking across the platform and boarding the next train. Ask one of the train officials if you have any difficulties.
