Trains Naples to Rome over the holidays.

I am having problems on the Trentitalia site getting a timetable for trains from Naples to Rome Dec 29 , I know if you look for a same day in November but I am wondering if there will be fewer or no trains as it is a holiday weekend. any suggestions for alternative transport ?

The message you get on the Trenitalia website, something like, "No options were found," probably means they're sold out. We're going in the opposite direction of you, same day, and got the same message. Our daughter, who is studying in Bologna, checked with the train station and confirmed they're sold out Rome to Naples, so I'm guessing it's the same for you.

We're renting a limo...I hope you're sitting down for this: 500 Euro. ACK! We're using Bob's Limousines, online at http://www.romelimousines.com/aboutus.html. You can also call a toll-free number in the US ( 1-877-666-BOBS) and speak to him or his staff in English. Calling might be better--his website plays this cheesy Italian music that can't be turned off except by turning off your speakers.

The reason you don't see complete timetables for 29 December is NOT because the trains are sold out, but rather because new timetables will be issued throughout Europe around 9 December and they haven't been loaded on the Trenitalia site yet. You can expect the timetables to be the same--or at most to vary by a few minutes--from what you see now if you enter a late November date.

I think I'll have to amend my last post. While new timetables not being posted does cause problems, since Denise reports all seats being sold for Rome-Naples on the 29th, the same is probably true for Naples-Rome.
