I'm flying into Gatwick and need to know the easiest & least expensive way to get to St. Pancras station to take the train to Brussels, as well as how long it will take. Is there a good on line reference on trains around Paris? Thank you!
For the sake of clarity, the Victoria Underground station is below Victoria rail station which is a short walk from Victoria coach station.
A National Express coach to Victoria plus the Tube from Victoria to King's Cross/St Pancras will cost more than a direct train--and the trip could take up to two hours.
Take a First Capital Connect train directly from Gatwick to St Pancras. Trains run every 15 minutes, it's a 47-minute ride, and the fare is £8.90.
The easiest option is a First Capital Connect train direct to St Pancras. The only problem is at the moment there is major reconstruction of the line and there are no through trains at weekends - at a weekend it will be easier to go to Victoria and take the tube. Victoria Coach Station is far enough from the rail/tube station to be problematic with heavy luggage.
I agree with Tim and Phillip. Take the train. Depending on what time you arrive, you could be sitting in traffic forever on the coach. And the hassle if you have luggage dragging it from station to station.
The train from Gatwick to St. Pancras is about 45-50 minutes. It costs just under 9 GBP.
The coach takes about one hour and 40 minutes and costs 8 GBP. But then you have to add the cost of the tube from the London Coach Station to St. Pancras.
So, the coach takes longer and is more expensive than the direct train to St. Pancras.
