I am scheduled to take the 6:01AM train this fall from Interlaken Ost to the Zurich Flughagen, which is scheduled to arrive at 8:16AM. My Continental flight is at 10:35AM. Is this too close, or can I make the flight? I really need to make the flight...

Swiss trains are legend for being on time so you can count on the 8:16am arrival time. Second, the flughafen station is directly beneath the main terminal. Just go up the escalator or elevator to find your way to your gate. Zurich is a large airport. It took us a bit to find the United check in area but everything was just fine. Just over 2hrs should be plenty of time.
I'd think it's OK, but you might want to check with Continental on what they currently recommend for Zurich airport.
There is an earlier train at 5:22am from Interlaken Ost arriving at 07:46 or 07:50 depending on if you change trains once or twice - which will give you an extra half hour to check in if required.
You'll make the flight. You can make your life easier by printing out your boarding pass the night before via a PC or by having Continental fax it to your hotel.
