If I take a daytime Lyria TGV rail (through Lyon France) from Paris to Zurich, will I have a good (or any) view of the Alps?
Or any view of them from Zurich?
And the Alps generally aren't visible from Zurich, unless, perhaps, your viewpoint is from a tall building on a clear day. But I couldn't guarantee it even then.
If the route does in fact go along the north shore of Lake Geneva, you will have a very good view of the Alps across the lake. If you really have a big desire to see them, take the TVG to Bern and then a short side trip to Thun or Interlaken & you'll be glad you did. You can still get back to Zurich in time for dinner.
