Train not available to book?

So, I am trying to book a thello train from Venice to Paris.
May 11, it's a night train. Tried a week ago on the thello site, and it wouldn't go through.
Emailed thello, they advised me to use the trenitalia site.
Tried that, it wouldn't go through. But a trenitalia agent called right away and said to call them every week until they were able to tell me it was bookable.
Called yesterday and was told I could book on the thello site.
Tried today, no luck. Emailed thello and then the response was that "here's a website link, there is maintenance on the train then".
But it doesn't list May 11.
Grrrrrr!!!
So, any input?
How else to get from venice to Paris overnight?
Or where to go for accurate info?
Thanks!

Train is available to book on trenitalia, is it that the credit card charge does not go thru? Price is excellent now.

A few thoughts........

1) Many trains in Europe are only available for sale three months ahead of time. It's possible this train is one of them. Have you tried Trainline ?

2) If you are trying to purchase this in a foreign currency, your credit card may be rejecting it. Check to see if your credit card is the problem by calling the issuer.

3) You could always fly. Under two hours. About $110. Get a good night sleep in a Paris hotel.

There is construction planned on that route, but May 11 is not one of the days that the train is cancelled, per the list that I have from Rail Europe. I do see all the options looking fresh and ready to book at www.thello.com, departing Venice May 11 and arriving Paris May 12.

Justine,

You may also be able to book that train on the Trainline.eu website, at the same price as that charged by the rail network. The direct Thello night train appears to be available for booking, but my Browser is acting up at the moment so I can't try a test booking.
