Train from Livorno to Siena

In May we would like to take train from the port of Livorno to the town of Siena. How long is this trip and how often do the trains run. I tired trenitalia.it, but their system is down. Would appreciate any advice.

I went to the Deutsche Bahn site (see Favorite Links above) and found frequent trains taking 2 to 2-1/2 hours with usually a change in Empoli.

CLICK HERE to see what the train schedule looks like. As mentioned above, a train change in Empoli. Note also that you will have to walk a bit from the train station to the town. Not bad. I believe that there may be a bus to the City wall.

There are frequent city buses that run from the train station to the center of Siena. Some go all the way to Piazza Gramsci while others only go as far as Piazza Sale (but fairly flat walk from there). It's a long uphill walk from the train station to the center, so best to take a bus.
