Train from Krakow to berlin

Hi, my friend and I intend to travel from Krakow to Berlin either as an overnight sleeper train on 17 Jun, or an early morning train on 18 Jun. However we're having some trouble booking the train. I've tried both DB Bahn and the Polish Rail website. Could anyone recommend a particular train schedule, price and website that we can book on that we can consider? We would prefer a sleeper train to save money on lodgings, but the early morning train would be fine as well. Thanks very much!

What problems have you had on bahn.de? Did you click on the language icon for the English version of the site? I found a day train for €39, a couple of changes.

Hi, I did. I initially wanted to purchase the saver fare (78 euro for 2) on 18 Jun morning, but it states "No more seats are available on this train, for which a reservation is compulsory." Does that mean it's sold out? For the overnight journeys, they state that fares are not available. Is it preferable for me to purchase on the spot instead of booking in advance instead?

You can get seats on the EC train to Warsaw. The problem appears to be on the Warsaw-Krakow EIC train. The Polrail site does not show the connection shown at DB, but it does show a 13:40 EIC train available for 230 pln (~$64). So you could book separately, but would be higher than the 78 euro price shown on DB. That would be 58 euro for the Berlin-Warsaw leg and 230 pln for the Warsaw-Krakow leg.

If the timing works for you, the direct bus at 11:00 is the easiest departure to buy online from DB, with no reservation glitches and also issued as an e-ticket, not delivered by mail.

Hi all, thanks for your replies. We've decided to take an overnight bus using Polski bus instead. The cheapest option for us.
