Train from Berlin to Frankfurt

We will need a train from Berlin to Frankfurt after 4pm on July 8th in order to catch our flight home. We would like to keep it in budget and as simple as possible without tons of transfers. We are three seniors traveling. I know we are asking a lot but would sure appreciate any suggestions.

Assuming you have an AM flight the next day and will spend the night in central Frankfurt, there is a direct train at 4:32 pm and 6:04 pm. You can buy Sparpreis nonrefundable tickets at www.bahn.com. The 4:32 costs 267 euro total for 3, but the 6:04 can be had for 103.50 euro for 3.

Depending on what your situation is, one of the answers above is bound to fit.

Take the direct train at 16:32 as has been suggested. Get off at the main train station in Frankfurt and stay overnight in one of the decent hotels near the train station so you don't have to schlepp your luggage very far. Best suggestion is Hamburger Hof. Next morning, take the train out to the airport. It takes 11 min. and there will be a train every 15 min.

Easy, no changes and you get a good nights sleep before your long flight home the next day.

The connections from Berlin to the Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof though are better then the ones to Frankfurt airport. Shorter and more of them. Check them out on the Deutsche bahn website, and see which one will fit your schedule the best.
