Towns & Villages near Moscow Meeting - December

Well, the roads are clear on Highway 95 but we won't be meeting in December because we have too many other parties to go to! Also Pam's traveling and we can't have a meeting without her!

For anyone near Moscow who loves to talk travel, our next meeting will be Saturday, 17 January, 2015 at 10:30 at One World Cafe, 533 South Main Street, Moscow....Idaho. Hope to see you there!

Boo hoo!! Well I'm traveling now but flying home today. Currently looking at a gorgeous double rainbow out the window of my hotel in Tucson.

It's really a shame to not meet in December but we'll just have to wait till January to get your most recent trip report, Pam. Hopefully you'll bring pictures too! I'm also hoping we'll get a trip report from Sharon.

Well altho I left Tucson yesterday after a 3.5 hr weather delay, I missed the Lewiston flight Sat, overnighted in SLC, flew to Lew today, circled the field, too foggy to land and am back in SLC. They plan to try the 2200 flight so you and Doug please go out in your front yard and blow on the fog. I might still be sitting here in Jan.

This is very bad on my credit card. So far have bought a new jacket (note to self...do not pack your coat) and a Fitbit. I've also walked about 2.5 miles in the airport.

With the amount of time I've spent in the air and in airports since yesterday morning I could be somewhere interesting. Like Paris. ;-)

Well, Pam, you won't be able to read this till you're home but I see you're boarding as I post this. I've been working on getting rid of the fog so it seems I've succeeded. I'll wave as you fly over our house.

Oh No! I never heard you fly over and now I know why--your flight was cancelled. Hmmm, flight delays DO happen. So close and yet so far. I'll keep working on moving the fog out but it's not looking very good.

Well last night the deal was to go and land either in Lewiston or Spokane but the pilot turned back due to worsening conditions when closer to SLC than Lewiston so another night in SLC. Half of St Joes was on that flight. They are putting on another flight today to get us in and to get everyone who was cancelled out.

Have never been in the SLC airport that late at night. It is closed!

Yay! the skies are clear now!
There will be 500 St Joes employees on your flight? They must have raised the roof on the Canadair Jet! How did they all fit?

@ Phil, yes there is even a wine bar now...just at the top of the escalators before you go down to the E Gates. It has changed a lot since I first started flying thru there 25 years ago.

Haha Darcy. I have never seen such a fire drill with luggage as on the 2 aborted flights. They moved luggage from the hold to a couple of empty seats. Two of us had to move from the front rows to the back rows to distribute weight on the early flight. It must have been because they had to have extra fuel in case they turned around, which, of course, they did.
