Towns & Villages Near Moscow Meeting

Our monthly meeting is almost here! Saturday, 21 April at 10:30 at One World Café, 533 S. Main Street, Moscow, IDAHO. I've made special arrangements so a visa is no longer required.....at least for those living in the US. Bring your travel dreams and questions! Everyone is welcome. So that I can figure out how large a room we'll need, how many of you are coming?

Darcy, Good luck with your meeting! I assume this is the "inaugural meeting" for the Moscow group? Hope you have a good turnout. Cheers!

I would love to join you, but I have a conflicting meeting at the same time.

Andrea, eventually we hope to be able to skype you during your meeting, that's why we've changed our meetings to coincide with yours. We just couldn't get our room at "One World Café" until 10:30. Do the Sacramento, Denver and Atlanta Groups have tentative agendas for your meetings or do not plan them at all?
I took Rick's Convertible Backpack, Velocé and Civita bags to our first meeting as well as many of his current guidebooks and maps but we didn't have an agenda at all since it was more of a getting-to-know-you meeting.

Agenda? Ha ha, no. No agenda. We just talk about whatever comes up. Planning future trips, discussing past trips, or whatever. We have a start time, but no end time. We stay until we leave. We are usually there few hours, though sometimes someone wil have to leave earlier. We are very casual about it all! I was hoping Eileen would be bring her new RS roller backpack and iPad bag to our meeting for show and tell, but unfortunately she will be out of town this month. If you want to try to Skype, contact Larry. He is good at setting that up.

Ken, we had our inaugural meeting last month with 11 of us. Thoroughly enjoyed everyone. I'm hoping the same people can come this Saturday as well as a couple more I have talked with.

I've heard through the grapevine that sparks will be flying at this Saturday's meeting....so you will NOT want to miss it! Who else is coming?

So sorry, Caitlin, that you can't make it to this month's meeting. I believe we'll be meeting on the 19 May, probably at "One World Café" in Moscow. We look forward to meeting you then! Be sure to check the Helpline about the week before to verify the date and location.

No, no, Pam! Not sparklers! Just sparks! You'll have to be there to find out all about them!

Oooooh, sparklers!!! (I'm easily distracted...) Agenda? What's an agenda? ROFL! Glad you got that visa thing worked out ;-)

LOL Eileen! We mostly talked as hard as we could go last time. Caitlin we will look forward to seeing you in May. Are you in Pullman for the summer? I thought maybe the sparklers had to do with getting our Moscow visas validated.

I won't be able to make it this month. I'm working at the Family Faire in Pullman. I have been busy studying up for my trip. Have my Paris & Amsterdam (Delft) accomodations. Still figuring out what to do with the 5 days in between -- will probably head to Luxembourg/Belgium and just wing it! Let me know when the next meeting is. Have fun!

Suzy, what fun to have a trip that is partly pre-arranged and partly unplanned...just see where the wind (or train!) takes you! 2 or 3 nights would be delightful in Brugge though! ....or? or? Hope you can make it next month! When is your trip?

I am hoping I can make it next month. I will be getting my passport stamped the first part of September. So, I still have a few months to find those perfect shoes and that perfect purse :-) A gal has to have her priorities.

Suzy, we will miss you! If you have purse or shoe candidates under consideration bring them...I'm pretty sure this group will give an opinion, lol.

Once again the meeting of the Villages Near Moscow was a lot of fun. Next meeting will be at 10:30 on Saturday, 19 May at One World Café. Hope to see you there!

We did have fun! Monte did an excellent informative presentation of sparks(notes were taken!). Roger discussed his modification of the ever-useful Monte-hooks and his obsessive weighing and spreadsheeting of every item he might ever possibly want to pack and how he has carefully spread that obsession to his sister (Me). Darcy and Doug shared their packing lists.

Pam, thank you so much for the excellent Minutes of the Villages Near Moscow meeting! You did leave out Monte's near-demonstration of his favorite Magellans' uh...items!

Laughing so hard Darcy! Yes I inadvertantly left out that tidbit!

Oh my ... sounds like I missed quite a meeting. Knowing Monte and his brothers' sense of humor, I can only imagine that it was informative & humorous. now if they could help me with my purse and shoes dilemma. ;-)

We missed you Suzy! We did not videotape the meeting which is probably a good thing. You can probably persuade Monte to give you his spark presentation, but I would not ask for the Magellan garment presentation. Sharon was unable to be there so there was no one to keep him in check. It was a very laughter-filled meeting! If you haven't bought shoes or a purse by the May meeting, at least bring links to the ones you are looking at. I don't know if you ever get to Lewiston, but AAA there (right off 21st St behind Inland Blood Bank) has Baggalini bags. (or is it 1 g and 2 l's??) Pam

@ Pam, 2 great minds...? I emailed Suzy this a.m. about Baggalini bags but I suggested checking out the Gift Shop at St Joes (of all places)! The right color or style can be ordered in...I believe.

You people are just toying with me. It has to stop May 1st when Sharon will be back. Darcy got my socks mixed up with my unmentionables.

OH! Darcy, I didn't realize The Elizabeth Shop had them also. I guess I was always zooming in to the candy display and jabbering to the volunteers and that was it! Next time I am there visiting I will go by and see what they've got. Nice to know they can be ordered too. Altho sometimes AAA has them on sale so the price might be better there. I doubt Sandy ever reduces them. Monte, I'm glad Sharon will be back in May. Darcy and I will be sure to her on the minutes of the meeting. BTW, I forgot to mention yesterday that the Lewiston AAA is having a packing seminar on Thursday May 3 @ 1PM. Laurie and I plan to go even tho I doubt if anyone can top Monte and Sharon's packing seminar at the Genesee Library last summer. Still, we may be able to pick up an idea or two.
