Towns near Moscow Travel Group 21 September

Is there anyone on the Helpline who loves to talk about travel? If you're one of us, we'd love to see you in the "back room" at One World Cafe, 533 South Main Street in Moscow at 10:30 on Saturday, the 21 September. This month we'll need to get serious about talking travel since last month at the potluck we had so much fun, we never really got around to it!
So come, bring your travel questions, travel stories and travel tips! Who will be there?

Well, <sigh> don't talk about me since I wont be there! I'll think about you as I travel around Wales on Sat, lol. Have a wonderful time!

So sorry Pam, that you will miss a second meeting in a row but really happy you're in Wales! I guess we can consider that an excused absence. Really glad you'll be there, S&M!

I have to get my koshari fix from Samir at the Farmer's Market, so I plan to to make the get-together. And Pam, you know we will talk about you! Next time, you will have some 'splainin' to do about why your bag was so heavy. Oh, wait - you will be on the road again in October!

Well, well, well! Look who posted. Yes, I am having huge regrets about having a bag that weighed 20# when I left the house. As it turns out I have used the Marmot Precip and umbrella every day because I can stash them in my purse while I have not used the Eddie Bauer weather edge at all. However, headed to Wales tomorrow and it is supposed to be chillier there. I have worn all the clothing so far! The initial weight has served to restrict any souvenir purchasing!

For lack of any substantive material regarding travel maybe we could hash over some of the questions that appear here. Money, honeymoons, shoes, clothes, etc. have all appeared here often. So, we could discuss the issues that collect in one pile or another.

Yes, I am happy to report I can come! I guess I have a lot of travel stories to catch up on. Sorry I will miss Pam though!

Excellent idea, Monte. Pam, maybe you can give me a mini-trip report at lunch in between your trips? I'd actually like an in-depth report but I'd settle for a short one over our usual 4-hour lunch.

Darcy, hope to work in a Mini trip report! I am in Wales now and it is gorgeous! The town where I am staying is kind of Idaho-like with river/stream, houses along it and sides that go straight up from there! We have a free morning tomorrow so hope to walk out and up!

Btw...if he hasnt dumped them from his phone Rog may be able to show the trip pictures I've been sending him and Cinda....

That would be fantastic, Pam! That way you can give a trip report without even being there. I'm thrilled Rog (& Cinda?) will be there but I wish you could be there too, Pam! Well, but I'm also happy you're on your trip! Does anyone have something for show & tell? Maybe a flamenco dance on the table?

Sharon and I can give an in-depth report on a day trip to Creston, B.C. to tour the Kokanee Brewery and have lunch at a very fine Polish restaurant.

That would be great, Monte. And are you bringing Kokanee for all of us? Actually I'm more of a wine drinker but 10:30 a.m. is a bit early to start!
See you all there!

Ok friends...waiting for a report from the meeting. Kokanee or not and was it the beer or the salmon? Demonstrations? Did spurs put in an appearance again?

The beer, of course! I suspect our beer was lost in cargo or maybe Monte and Sharon drove, in which case it's in their boot somewhere. They gave a lovely trip report. We had a great meeting in spite of the fact that Pam, Rog and Cinda were missing as well as several others. We do have new members though, Rena & Mike so we got to hear all about their travel dreams as well as Monte & Sharon's.
Looking forward to the 19th already!
