Tours in London

My name is Michelle and I will be traveling alone for 10 days. I have wanted to know if anyone knows of any tour companies that tour around London! I went to London walks at walk.com and they have many day trips but I do not know of any other sites that would be just as good. The london walks site does do all day trips but I wanted to go to Bath at least for a day and this particular site does not go there while I am in London! I will be there April 5-14.

Hey last time I was in London I did a tour of Bath, Windsor Castle, and Stonhendge it was a long day but one of my most favortive things i did on my trip.

The company was www.goldentours.co.uk. They do tours in around and outside London. I really like the guide we although they do may tours so who knows who you might get, also the guide was able to get the group to skip all the lines everywhere we went!

Michelle, I have taken many London Tours and they are wonderful! I highly recommend them. Having said that, if they are not going to Bath on the days you will be in London, then yes, use the tour operator suggested above. I've used them also. These tours are a wonderful way of getting to the sights, avoiding the lines and obtaining the history of the area. Have fun!

Michelle, Bath is quite easy to do on your own. It is an easy train ride from London Paddington.

Once you arrive in Bath, there are a number of walking tours that you can join if that appeals to you.

Take a look at the Rick Steves guide. I'm sure it gives good information on arriving in Bath and the sights to see.

Hi Michelle,
You could definitely do Bath on your own. There is actually an airlink shuttle that runs from Victoria Station to the airport and continues on to Bath. It's a few hours but affordable. You could do the train as well - more expensive but more direct. That said, if you do want to do a walk in London, definitely do one with London Walks. During my trips there, I have done 6 or 7 of their walks and have never been disappointed. It's a great way to get a deeper look at certain neighborhoods and historical sights. Guides are qualified, super knowledgable and always fun.

I would suggest staying overnight in Bath - take an early train, then stay that night - that way you can take one of the evening walking tours, which are great fun (the daytime ones are good, too). Salisbury (Stonehenge) is pretty easy by yourself as well - we took the train to Salisbury, local bus to Stonehenge, then the bus through the back roads to Bath (overnight in Salisbury, but with different timing, you might be able to get to Bath in one day - then stay 2 nights in Bath). The London walks are wonderful - plan to do several if you can.
