Tom Bihn travel trays sizes

I know these are very popular here, and I'm ready to purchase. Do you all prefer the smaller or larger one? I'm thinking my family is also getting them for holiday gifts this year- never too early too start.
I think we have Mardee to blame, but if not, will the guilty party fess up? Thanks so much!
Ps
And they don't have sales , correct?!

Yes, Mardee is definately to blame. I have been looking at their website too. Thank goodness we leave soon on our next trip so I don’t want to order anything till we return.

Funny, Barbara. My cube for my cords and adapters is failing me because it doesn't have firm sides. Hmmm....what else do I need?

Hey, I resemble that remark! Ha ha, seriously, I like the small ones (I have 2) and have bought them as gifts for family members (also small ones). I use mine for electronic plugs and adaptors for one, and the other I put misc. stuff in, like hair clips, small lotion tubes, lip balm and so on.

I gave one to one of my sisters who also travels last Christmas and she uses hers for jewelry when she travels. But a friend of mine has the large one and she puts a small usb power strip, and all her iPhone & apple watch charging cables. I've also read about some people using it for their daily meds. Pretty much the world is your oyster!

Hi Pat, I have both sizes. You really can't go wrong with either size. Our large holds cords, adapters, and a white noise machine--everything we put on the bedside table for charging, white noise, etc. The small holds things that we put in our pockets. Hubby has one and I have one in different colors. Everything in our pockets goes in it when we get back to the hotel. Before leaving in the morning, everything goes back in our pockets. No, TB does not have sales.

I’ve had my eye on the travel trays too as gift, but I might need one too. I just realized you can to go their showroom in Seattle, though that could be dangerous for my credit card!

I have not succumbed although I do have a new purse and wallet courtesy of Mardee-the-enabler, lol!!

I did look at the TB forum and saw one person posted pictures of nesting a small in a large so you had the area outside the small cube to prop up your phone. I usually prop my phone on a Flex Flap phone holder (thank you Travel Tips by Laurie, hahaha!!) but that nesting idea looked good to me. Fortunately the Island color in the halcyon fabric is not available yet so I do not have to make a decision. (insert eyeroll emoji here!!)

Can I help it if I like to share the shopping joy? :-)

Mardee, if only your ideas weren't SO darn good.

Wish I knew who to thanks for the Eagle Creek neck passport holder . The straps are like bra straps, the adjuster ring small, and it was just so much more comfortable than my other neck wallet. Mardee , was that you???

Pat, it wasn't me. I don't wear anything around my neck. But I did a quick search and it might have been bogiesan, who I haven't seen online in awhile. But here's a post where she mentions it: https://community.ricksteves.com/travel-forum/packing/opinions-on-this-money-belt

Sandancisco, nice article! Thanks for sharing.

We travel with 4, yup 4, of these. Oftentimes there is little countertop space in bathrooms so we have his & hers large trays for holding the 311 bag, hair brushes etc. The trays are easy to organize between rooms. We use another large travel tray in the lounge to collect/organize cables & charges. It is a bit floppy but we've so many things in it that the items support the sides. And, we use a small travel tray to hold keys, wallets, note pad, change whatever was in our pockets at the end of the day. These incredibly useful trays have made their way to Scotland where they have been given as thank you gifts.

Thanks Mardee for the TB recommendation!

@Diane - I am trying something different on my next trip. It’s to Yellowstone and 2 of the 3 cabins I’m in I know there is little counter space. I wound up with an extra purse organizer (insert eye roll emoji) so am going to try that. I also have a carabiner in case I want to hang it from the towel rack. If this works I’ll post when I get back, lol.

@Pat…sorry for pulling OT!

I have both sizes and they are great. Presently, I am using the large one for all bedside items while traveling: mask, eyedrops, earrings, phone, kindle, RX, etc. The small I actually use everyday at home. However, on my last overseas trip I used the small for my foot care items while I walked some of the Camino Frances. Everyone is different and so are the uses for these bags. IMO. I love them. I've also given them as gifts to friends who have to stay overnight in the hospital to organize their items on that bed/table. They work great for that as well.
