Today, March 14, is Pi day

Pi is 3.14.

Trivia question. What is Pi in the metric system (hint: it's not divisible by 10)?

I am by no stretch mathematical but Pi was not conceived in either an imperial or a metric system. Pi is Pi, irrespective of where it is being used.

I think if the diameter is metric then the circumference is also metric.

"Pi are squared".... No, "Pi are round"

And it's Albert Einstein's birthday.

Pi is a ratio, not a measurement.

It makes no difference whether you measure in feet, meters or lengths of a hummingbird's beak, it's still the ratio between the 2 measurements of circumference divided by diameter.

It doesn't have to be only metric or imperial. For example, my height is 5 foot, 28 cm.

I read once that the West Virginia legislature passed a law requiring Pi to be defined as 3, not 3.xx, just 3.0. Apparently, in the Bible, there is a description of a lake where the distance around was three times the distance across, and they didn't want to defy the Bible.

In order to calculate the waist circumference of a full circle skirt, you must use Pi.

In order to calculate the waist circumference of a full circle skirt, you must use Pi.

But don't eat too much pi or the skirt won't fit.

Anyone else ever notice that 3.14 written backwards or read in a mirror spells PIE?

And let's just be clear the only pie is pecan pie, everything else is a poor pretender!

Also, apple pi would like a word. ;)
