Tirana, Albania

We were in Tirana in fall 2019 and really liked it. The National History Museum is interesting, as is a nearby town Kruje.

There isn’t one here, unfortunately. And if there were, there wouldn’t be many posts.

I was there for 4 days in May last year - and could stay longer. It’s a a relatively small capital city and easy to get around, plus fairly inexpensive. But so much of Albania is gorgeous and interesting that I probably wouldn’t choose a whole month in Tirana unless you are also traveling (or have traveled) to other parts already. Berat and Girokastra are gorgeous - and I never made it to any of the coastal towns but the pictures are amazing. (I don’t count 2 nights in Ksamil as any kind of relevant experience).

But yes, I could see basing there for a month and visiting other cities. Albania is worth experiencing.
