Time for connecting flights

Booking flights from US to Salzburg for RS Alpine My Way Tour. Connection will be in Frankfort. I assume we will need to clear immigration there, correct? Connecting flights to Salzburg are either a 2 hr or 5 hr layover. Wondering how much time we will need to clear immigrations and make the connection.

Return flight will be Geneva to Zurich and then on to US. Assume we will not not to clear immigration/customs since it’s a domestic flight and could do a shorter layover?

Limited experience booking international flights. Any/all suggestions appreciated!

You will go through immigration in Frankfurt. (Frankfort is in Kentucky.)

You will go through exit immigration in Zurich before you board your flight to the U.S. So not too short of a connection.

If this is all on one ticket, and you miss your connection, the airline will put you on the next available flight.

I will leave it to others to give their opinion on 2 or 5 hours as I have never connected in Frankfurt.

Helpful information. Thank you. And thank you for correcting my spelling of Frankfurt. One letter does make a difference.

I did Barcelona to Zurich to Chicago on Tuesday. Flight delay departing Barcelona, left only 1 hour in Zurich. Made it without problems

I have a FRA connecting flight of just over an hour coming up in a few days, but I’m not too concerned. Have gone through Frankfurt many times and although it is a huge airport, it is really easy to navigate.
