time between flights- international

So here's my panic, and i don't know if anyone can help, but....I am visiting Israel this summer and have a round trip ticket between JFK and Israel (Tel Aviv). After Israel I am going to Italy for a couple of weeks, then flying back to Israel to catch my flight back to New York.

Here's the question: my flight from Genoa is due to arrive in Israel about 2.5 hours before my Israel flight is due to leave. How dangerously am I living? Does anyone know anything about how much Alitalia will help you if a delay causes you to miss your VERY expensive flight back to the States? How long does it actually take to get through customs or the airport or....????

I think you need to contact the airlines -from what I understand airlines that fly into and out of Israel have extremely strict security procedures so transfer time in Tel Aviv is probably very different from what it would be at a European or American airport.

Definately check with the Airline. I'd say go directly to the next departure lounge and enjoy a good magazine and chill.
