Why, are they not valid anymore? These guys are just re-selling tickets. I ask because I go out to the Frankfurt airport on a very regular basis and there is always 2 guys there asking if anyone has an all day pass they aren't going to use anymore. Lots of people think nothing about it and just give it to these guys. The tickets are good all day long, and they are ready to get on a plane and don't need it anymore. Of course these guys are turning around and selling them to people. It isn't legal, and they can get in trouble with the DB or security, but the tickets are probably valid.

This one looked like a scam . I saw the woman give a thumbs up to the man after she sold a ticket. they both approached us at separate times to try to sell a ticket.

What does a scam look like? I give my wife a thumbs up if I find the stinking tomato aisle in the grocery store.

It still isn't a scam. A scam is where you pay for something that is worthless. If they are selling a ticket for cheaper than it costs from the machine, but it is still valid, then it isn't a scam. It is just them getting away with something that the authorities don't want them to do. I have random people walk up and ask me all the time on weekends if I have a monthly ticket and if they can ride along with me on the train. Is this a scam? No, it is someone who is trying to save money by not buying a ticket and because they know most people have monthly tickets, that means they can take someone with them on the train. Because the group tickets are good for up to 5 people, I also see people ask strangers waiting to buy tickets if they want to contribute a couple of euro and be part of the "group". Is this also a scam? No, it is just another way for people to save money.
