- Family of four with twin boys age 8.
- We have been to Europe over Christmas for 13-16 days each of the last two years.
- Trip 1: Rome (5 nights), Venice (3 nights), Florence (4 nights) (flew to Paris), Paris (4 nights).
Trip 2: Rome (4 nights) (flew to Budapest), Budapest (3 nights), Vienna (2 nights), Prague (4 nights) (Flew to London), London (mistake stop as we missed flight).
Trip - December 26, 2017 - January 10, 2017.
We leave and return from LAX.
Fly into Venice and Fly out of Vienna (tickets were crazy cheap)
Kids are game for anything.
We love food and just enjoying the City, but do the major art and tourist stuff.
We would like to balance the trip with at least 1 "cheaper" destination - ie. Budapest, Prague, etc.
Taking planes in the middle of the trip is a bit of a buzz kill so we have decided not to do that anymore.Proposed Route
27 - Arrive Venice at 3 p.m.
28 Venice

30 - Venice - Day to Verona
31 - Venice
1 - Take train to Innsbruck (arrive at 12:30 p.m.)
2. Innsbruck (day trip to Mittenwald
3. Leave early and spend day in Salzburg (arrive 9:00 a.m. and leave at 4:00 p.m). Arrive in Budapest via train at 9 p.m.
4. Budapest
5. Budapest
6. Budapest
7. Budapest

Thoughts? We thought it would be better to just spend day in Saltzburg instead of spending night. We are heavy in Budapest because of the value. We were going to spend two nights in Verona, but thought it might be better to use Venice as a base and reduce the number of hotels.
