Thoughts on my itinerary Prague-Vienna-Nice-Paris

Wondering if it’s too much too many transfers and too much traveling

  1. Philadelphia via Dublin to Prague. Is that a guaranteed jet lag flight? I usually like direct flight but not possible for me.
  2. Prague 31-6th 5days
  3. train to Vienna 5 hours
  4. Vienna 6th-11th 4 days
  5. Plane flight at 18:30 to Nice 1-1/2 hours
  6. Nice 11-17th 5 days
  7. Tgv Paris 6 hours
  8. Paris 17-23rd 5 days
  9. Leave out of Paris to home

Should I cut out a city? Go with the flow.

How about a more efficient trip:

Philadelphia via Dublin to Prague.
Prague 31-6th 5days
train to Vienna 5 hours
Vienna 6th-11th 4 days
Train to Budapest
Budapest 11-17th 5 days
Fly Budapest to Paris on Transavia or Wizz Air

Paris 17-23rd 5 days
Leave out of Paris to home

Why would you be more likely to have jet lag with a connecting flight? The time difference is still six hours no matter your routing.

I think your itinerary is well paced and you’re giving more time than people usually do to these places.

I am actually interested in Vienna. And I guess I will stick with the schedule. I just prefer to not travel to so many countries. But this is the draw this time..I would like to spend more days 5-6 per stop rather 4-5.

Flying is the first obstacle to deal with.
The flight is leaves at 6:30 arrives in Dublin at 12:30 am then 2 hour layover and leaves at 2:30 am and lands at 5: 00 am eastern time
It just seems like I won’t be sleeping with those timeframes. Not sleeping in concourse/maybe an hour on the Dublin portion. I follow rick Steve’s recommendation to stay up till evening and sleep at night to reset clock. But it would be nice to have 4-5 hours sleep for travel day. I just don’t see where I can get that. I did that a few times but am so exhausted during the first day. But second day no issues.

Any recommendations
Thanks.

I think it sounds fine. If it were me, I'd take one day from Nice and add it to Vienna unless you're renting a car in Nice and plan to go exploring. Nice is nice, but a little sleepy. I had trouble filling 3 days there. Vienna is one of my favorite cities and there's a ton to do if you're into art, music, and history. If not, a day trip to Bratislava and/or Melk are easy and worthwhile from Vienna.

Enjoy!

I agree with David, why not be more efficient and limit travel during the trip?
I hate taking flights during a land trip in Europe.

train or plane with this much time it's a matter of preference. I like the schedule. I could easily fill 5 days in Nice.
