I thought our forum members might want to know about this. It appears that Lonely Planet's Thorn Tree forum -- after being made "read only" at the onset of the pandemic -- has closed permanently.
I haven't personally spent a lot of time there, but this is a loss for the wider travel community.

With all (!!!) the forums you have to have eyes on all the time, I'm not surprised!
That is indeed sad news. I haven't used the Thorn Tree in awhile, and haven't checked it since they made it "read only". I assumed it would resume operations eventually. It was a valuable resource to get good information on travel to just about any obscure location in the world.
