This is also encouraging.....

It looks like Greece will be one of the first countries to reopen to tourism......

Of course for those of us from North America the main issue may be flight availability. There may be more connections and layovers, at least in the beginning. It appears that air travel within Europe is also getting back to normal to some extent, as easyJet has announced that they hope to open 75% of their routes by July.

At present, Americans, Brits, the Portuguese etc can’t go to Greece (even with a connection elsewhere in Europe).

EasyJet have announced they are flying 75% of routes and it remains to be seen what the take up will be, as presumably most of their seats for July and August were sold before the pandemic. The U.K. government’s advice is no foreign travel, which would negate any travel insurance (which wouldn’t cover Covid issues anyway).

Visitors can still fly to Greece from those airports*, but will be subject to compulsory testing, and either a seven-day self-quarantine period if they test negative for coronavirus, or a 14-day supervised quarantine if they are found positive.

The above from the link Ken provided. The devil is in the details.

What's encouraging to me is that Boeing and all the airline stocks are rebounding, quite significantly. Delta is up nearly 40 percent off its lows.

Warren Buffet proclaimed the airlines were toast....but again he's been proven wrong.

No virus can quell the curiosity to travel.

We were supposed to leave to Athens next week, but Americans are not allowed just yet. Perhaps they will lift the restrictions on July 1st. It was just too iffy for us so we cancelled.

I "think" Ukraine will open next week. That's what the news story says, but I am trying to confirm if there are any conditions to entering.
On another post someone mentioned Portugal was open, but again, not confirmed.
