Lots of good stories there. Glad Chicago is on the list!
I cannot count the times I have received generous help from locals while traveling. Most times it is very minor assistance, but sometimes people really go out of their way.
I really encourage people to give back that kindness whenever they encounter a stranger needing help, even if not a tourist.

Strangers have been more than generous helping me during travels. I try to act the same when encountering tourists here.
