I am going to Amsterdam in April. We are planning 2 nights in/at The Hague. From there I want to spend some time in Delft and on the same day continue to Amsterdam where we are going to stay for a week. I was thinking we will have our bags so it will be tricky. Any suggestions how to get to both places without fuss? I put this in General Europe. I don't know how to edit the location to Netherlands. Thanks for the suggestions.
We spent 3 weeks in the Netherlands a few months ago. Went by train everywhere except Arnheim---based in Leiden, visited Delft, Gouda, Alkmaar, the Hague, Rotterdam, Dordrecht, Utrecht and probably one or two I'm missing other than Amsterdam. We travel with carry on and while we didn't store luggage at Delft, we did in other locations. Check out this website, I believe I read elsewhere there were lockers at that station and if unavailable, there are other options for storing luggage close by. https://www.ns.nl/en/travel-information/luggage/luggage-at-the-station.html
The easiest solution would be to take a train to Delft, store your luggage in the lockers at the train station, explore Delft, pick up your luggage and take the train to Amsterdam.
You should however be aware that Delft is not located between The Hague and Amsterdam. If it was, you could buy 1 ticket from The Hague to Amsterdam and interrupt your journey in Delft. Since Delft is not located along the most direct train line from The Hague to Amsterdam you will need to buy 2 tickets: 1 ticket from The Hague to Delft and 1 ticket from Delft to Amsterdam.
Another option is to take the tram #1 from The Hague to Delft instead of the train. Depending on where exactly in The Hague you’re staying that might be easier.
On a side note; you have posted this question in the “general Europe” subforum. There is a subforum dedicated to questions about the Netherlands. If you have specific questions about a certain country, it’s usually best to post them in that country’s subforum.
