Actually Ireland's diplomatic languages are French and German - French since the founding of the state and German was added in more recent years. And we sponsor Irish not English as an EU language and Malta sponsors Maltese, so there is not sponsor for English and a strong movement to have it dropped as a working language (meaning there would be translations, but no actually work conducted in it)!!!

EU/EEA citizens do not travel under Schengen rules, they travel under the EU/EEA /CH rules. And Irish people are just exempt because it would get too complicated and in any case under UK law Irish people "are not foreigners" (Ireland Act 1949) even to the point they can and have held senior government positions including Prime Minister.

OMG, I laughed so hard watching this!

I sent it to my daughter as well, because she got so tired of me talking about Schengen when we were on our trip. I was just trying to explain the border rules but she got so confused, she banned me from ever saying the word "Schengen" again! 😂 😂 😂
