No more questions. Our trip to Europe is over and all the help was much appreciated. We were over in Europe from May 11 to June 7. Spent time in France visiting Vimy Ridge, Dieppe, Normandy and quite a few memorial cemeteries. Was all this ever interesting. The cemeteries sure were very heart touching to see all those young lives sacraficed for our and others freedom. It was also nice to see how well they are maintained. We stayed in small communities and did a fair amount of driving. Thank goodness for my GPS. We stayed at a hotel in Tyrol Austria for 4 days and the hotel owners were just fantastic! The room, breakfasts, suppers and hospitality was great. Beautifull scenery and good hiking. Visited the Dachau prison memorial. Spent most of the day there. There is so much to see. We visited relatives in the Czech Republic and had many good times. The country side is very hilly and lots of trees. Reminded me of the Ozarks. The road system and the traffic was much more than I expected. They were very busy, and for the most part the drivers are vey good. Their big truck drivers are very professional. In all total we put on 5114 kms. On the last part of our trip, we stayed in London for a few days. What an amazing rail and underground system! The people were very helpfull to us bewildered travellers. The crowds were something else. It was great to see Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey. Took a river cruise, rode the London Eye and toured the HMS Belfast. All were great. In the end it was also good to be home. Got tired of the "suitcasing".
Again thanks for the help on this site!!
Glad to hear that you had a great trip. London is an amazing city.
Garry, It's great to hear that you had a fantastic European vacation! I imagine you had a good time exploring the many decks on HMS Belfast (I sure did!). I imagine you'll be planning the next one before too long.
