temperatures in Amsterdam in fall & Tuscany villa

We are planning a week in Amsterdam for either early october or week of Sept. 17th. Is the weather a whole lot different these 3 weeks apart? We are going to Tuscany either before or after the Amsterdam visit so one will follow or preceed the other. If you've stayed in Tuscany do you have a villa or farm to recommend for a week's stay? Which town?

Well a few weeks won't make a HUGE difference, but Amsterdam just gets cooler and wetter as fall comes,, so for me, I would go in September and cross fingers( was there last july and it was cool and wet anyways, lol )

It's transition time in both countries. It means it can anything from "last summer hurrah" or "first early fall chill"

My general rule is go north to south in the fall, to give yourself the best chance of good weather. A-dam rains, on average, every other day all year - a little less in the summer and more in spring, fall and winter. September could be fairly nice, rainy, or some of each. Although the weather can be wet and chilly. It doesn't get as cold, or warm, as Madison. October is ideal in Tuscany, probably my favorite month. I think you will be happier visiting Amsterdam in September and Tuscany toward October.

I found this on another thread, and checked them out by cross-referencing them with TripAdvisor. It's La Bruciata, in Montepulciano. I was going to only stay a few days, but after several correspondence with Laura, the owner, I found I can rent a car in Chiusi, (coming from Florence), and drive to Assisi (1.5 hours), Siena (1 hour), and a number of hill villages in the region. There's a walking path from the farm to the town, which is about 1.5 km away. So I'm using them as a base for the region. I did a Google satellite and street imaging and all the roads, look more like country roads in good condition. Instead of a couple of days, I've booked a week at this agritourism farm and got a better rate, including dinners, and a cooking lesson. They will arranged for cheese and wine tours, if you want. http://www.agriturismolabruciata.it/ Hope this helps.
