Temperature in August for Bruges and Amsterdam

We'll be in Bruges/Amsterdam at the end of August. Does anyone know the temperature? What type of clothing should I pack. Any restaurant suggestions,? Places to avoid? Thanks!

This is our standard answer to weather questions, when you're asking about weather more than 10 days out:

click here for the best weather site on the web

Unfortunately, no one here has a crystal ball.

Starting about 10 days out, you can go to weather.com and get 10 day forecasts, which aren't very accurate but will give you a rough idea; and these forecasts get more accurate the closer you get to the time you'll be there. Monitor weather.com forecasts in the days before you leave, to get the best idea.

Generally speaking, it's warm, but there can be rain and wind and a lot of cloud cover. It wouldn't be a bad idea to pack some form of rain gear (think rain coat or umbrella) just to avoid the occasional afternoon showers.

Check out Trip Advisor for ratings and comments on restaurants. I find that to be very helpful. And they show maps to give you the location.

I will be nice and warm. We always carry ponchos and travel umbrellas that fit in our day pack. In fact they stay there the entire trip. Never know when it will rain.
