Switzerland: Open Air Museum

I have searched through this site extensively and really appreciate the time of those who answer questions here! It has been most helpful. I would appreciate thoughts on the questions below. My husband and I are planning to go from Luzern to Interlaken during our stay in Switzerland (end of June) and I am considering a stop in Brienz for the Open Air Museum. 1) Does the regular train follow the same route as the Golden Pass? (I have checked times & map and it appears so, but want to be sure.) 2) If not, can you get off and on the Golden Pass within the same day?
3) If it does follow the same route, is the Open Air Museum in Brienz worth a stop and if so, how long should I allow? Or is this more suited to a family trip with children? We'll be going on to either Lauterbrunnen or Wengen from there. Thank you!

Are you talking about the Ballenberg open air museum? If so it is definitely worth a stop, with our without children along. It is quite large so you could easily spend half a day there. Minimum would be 2 hours, I'd say. Here are some explanations for access by public transportation:

Since Beatrix has answered Q3 so well I will have a go at the others. Q1. Yes. That's the way I go because it is more frequent and needs no reservations and has fresher air - the windows open. Q2. n/a

Brienz deserves a visit regardless of Ballenberg. If I were staying in the region for a while and just looking for things to do then I would do Ballenberg. However, if you're just passing through BB is imo too far out of the way and too much of a time consumer. Instead hop on the one of the many lake steamers around the lakes of Brienz or Thun. Better yet, take the little train up into the Lauterbrunnen Valley (20 min from Interlaken Ost) and see some eye popping scenery up close.
