does anybody have an itinerary for seeing switzerland by car. love the little towns & hideaways. help !!!
Most all those little towns and hideaways are only accessible by train, cable car, or by hiking. The Swiss Pass is your friend when traveling to CH;)
Go to all the little towns and cities around lake Geneva. We took the train from Geneva to Montreux (where they have the Castle Chillon) and then back to Lausanne and up to Zurich. we passed so many cool looking towns and cities while on the train that i wished we were in a car so we could stop and check them out!
We spent 3 weeks in the car in the summer of 07. Loved the area arounf Murren and Interlaken. The Jungfrau area is beautiful and absolutely loved Gimmelwald. These areas you can Heading over this summer and plan on a train trip to Paris and a few day things around lake COnstance. Appenzell is a cute little hilly town not too far from Zurich.
Joel,
I will be going to CH in 3 weeks for 10 days, visting family.
We rent a car from Auto Europe, that way we have freedom of where we want to stop.
We ALWAYS spend at least 2 days in the Interlaken area.Whatever you want to see there, you can't go wrong.
A drive up the Brunig Pass towards Lucerne is also a great place to see.
