We have been told that Lugano Switzerland is pretty much closed up on Sundays. Is the same true for Como and/or Bellagio?

Jerry, Actually, Clooney's Villa is on the market, so he may not even be there (the Beckham's are reportedly interested, as is a Russian billionaire - I believe the "asking price" is around $30 million). Clooney also broke up with Elisabetta in June, so perhaps that's one reason he decided to sell. Gene, I can't recall if I've been there on a Sunday? I imagine it will be "closed up" to some extent, as the locals will be attending Church. However, I imagine most of the tourist businesses will be open and the Ferries will be operating.
