Any suggestions for how to spend a Sunday in Provence?
Do you have a car? Isle-sur-la-Sorgue is a great idea if you do. Fontaines de Provence beyond that is beautiful if the river is high. Circling back to see the Pont du Gard and maybe Uzes beyond that.
Years ago, my daughter and I enjoyed visiting the charming town of L'Isle-sur-la-Sorque where there is an
interesting Sunday market along the banks of the river that weaves through the town.
Shops will be closed but tourist attractions will be open. Restaurants are more likely to be open at lunchtime that in the evening. Public transport may be even dodgier than is usual in rural France.
I third the suggestion for L'Isle sur la Sorgue on Sunday.
OK then, looks like we will go to Isle Sur La Sorgue! Any recommendations on where to stay? Should we stay there for two nights (Sat. & Sun.)or drive from a hotel somewhere else? We want to spend Monday driving to Monaco via the Grand Canyon du Verdon. Thanks everyone!
I can't advise, Valerie. Our visit was just a stop for a few
hours.....we started in Arles, a wonderful city, that morning.
