I wanted to take an either early or late summer trip to Europe with my husband, 15 year old daughter, and 8 year old daughter. The trip will be around 5-12 days and I have no clue where to travel to that would be fun for a kid and a teenager. They both enjoy learning about history and we were hoping for something that went to more than one city. Our top choices were Ireland, Italy, and England, but we're open to all countries. I was just hoping for some guidance on itinerary and a general idea of the cost of the locations we chose.

Is this your first trip or did you visit Europe pre-kid?
There will be a world of difference between a long weekend and nearly two weeks. Do these 5 or 12 days include the travel days or have you taken them off? You will lose the first day and the last day to travel. Your profile gives no clue of where you are coming from so it is difficult to guess where you could fly into.
If this is the girls' first trip there will plenty to keep children of those ages busy pretty much wherever you go.
What about England, Italy and Ireland caused you to pick them initially? What sort of things intrigue you two, as well as the girls?
