Suggestions for a Pyrenees hiking trip?

My husband and I (both fairly fit young seniors) are going to southern France/northern Spain for the month of September. His dream has been to hike in the Pyrenees (probably day hikes). We're flying in/out of Toulous. Any suggestions?

Cathy, becareful in this region. I read that there have been some problems in the Basque country. Both France and Spain are at odds regarding this region, and there have been bombings! I read this on the RS European News for the day!

We were in Northern Spain in late June and stayed at the Parador in Bielsa in the Pyrenees. The hotel was quite nice and the views of the mountains were awesome. There were numerous hikes right out the front door of the Hotel as well as a National Park with good hiking nearby. We spent three nights there and it was a highlight of our trip to Spain. (we are in our sixties relatively fit ) There was hiking from easy to extreme depending on your wishes.
