We will have a car to return, can return it in Koln/Bonn Germany or at the airport at Dusseldorf International. Our flight leaves at 9:30 AM. Suggestions where we should stay our last night and when/where to return the car?

Susan and Monte, I'd probably find a place to stay on an easy transportation link to the airport and return the car the night prior to your flight. Given that your flight departs at 09:30, you'll probably have to check in no later that 07:30. Car rental locations may not be open at that time? Cheers!

Düsseldorf International is well connected to town by train. The S-Bahn takes 11 minutes. Book something in town, dump the car the night before, enjoy the old town by the river that night, and it's an easy trip to the airport in the morning.

follow up to Ken's suggestion. Depending on Car Rental company, they may shuttle you back to your hotel after you drop it off. Worth asking

Does anyone have a recommendation for a place to stay with easy access to the rail which will take us to Dusseldorf Int. Airport that is under 100 Euro? Thanks for the help!

My favorite hotel of all, meaning of all the places I have ever stayed, is in Cologne. Hotel Coellner Hof. It is beautiful, with old world charm, nice big rooms, big beds, big bathrooms, friendly staff and the best breakfast buffet I have ever had. It is about a 5-10 min. walk from the train station.
