suggestion for places with over- water lodging

I travel with a group of teachers in our 50's & 60's. I'm having trouble deciding what to do for our trip in July 2015. I would like a nice beach area with over the water lodging preferably close to the U.S. or farther away if not extremely expensive. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
