Stuck in Zurich

My wife and I have been enjoying a visit to Switzerland, celebrating our 30th Anniversary. We have visited several places since our arrival to Zurich on the 21st of March. We were scheduled to leave today on a 'stand-by' ticket and the flight over sold and we are here for a few more days. We are scheduled to leave on the Sunday flight (early) and want some suggestions...After our arrival in Zurich we visited Paris and Lyon, Bern, Luzern, Interlaken and a day at Mt. Titlis, then back to Zurich. Ideally something in Italy or Germany (we want to make the most out of this extra time). We are in our late 40's and have lots of energy. Help...we love the many suggestions in the different forms but want something specific to us. Thanks.

It is only 3hours 41 minutes down to Milan by train. Or less if you want to get off the train in Lugano or Como.

Head to Lindau and enjoy the harbor view.

Laying low is what is on our agenda for today. A massage is a great suggestion and will consider the other suggestions! Thank you for the quick response.

Hop on the Rail Jet and go to St Anton. 2 hr 20 min, there's a direct at 6:40 pm. Even if you aren't skiers, its a really fun town. Just watching the wild Austrian apres-ski can be entertaining!

I really enjoyed Basel. I was there when they had all the Christmas markts so that makes a difference, but you're not far from Basel. If you're interested in Germany too, head to Basel and spend a few hours there, then head to Freiburg. There are also direct ICE to Freiburg that takes 1:41 from Zurich. You're not far from Konstanz either (1:17 on a IR.

The Lake of Constance is great for Easter weekend. There are Easter parades and other old traditions in every town on the German (but also on the Swiss side). I just have to keep repeating that the view from the German side to the Swiss is much more spectacular than vice versa. Visit Konstanz, Mainau island, Meersburg, the Baroque Church of Birnau... if it's a bright and sunny day enjoy it on the board walk of Friedrichshafen (that's where the best view is)...

I like Lola's idea, stop in Como, get Lucky, and get good weather.
