We will have about two weeks this December to visit Europe. Strasbourg is at the top of our list for the Christmas markets, but other than that, we are pretty open/flexible about where to go. A dear friend of mine is in Naples, and although we wouldn't ordinarily pair Naples with this trip, we don't get to Europe that often so this is also a priority. Other than these two places, I'm scratching my head about how to plan this trip. We've considered flying into Paris, taking the train to Strasbourg, and then we are pretty open. Would love for this to be efficient but not sure what makes sense in terms of adding Naples onto the trip. Any feedback is greatly appreciated!
You can fly quite inexpensively from Paris to Naples, but it's much more expensive to fly from Strasburg to Naples. Check skyscanner.com for flight information. With 2 weeks, I would fly into Paris and spend some time there, then train to Strasburg, train back to Paris, and flight to Naples. Consider a day trip, or even staying in, Colmar rather than Strasburg. You can find train schedules on bahn.com.
Easy Jet flies from both Paris CDG and ORLY. 2 hrs 15 min. Prices start around $53.
You might consider going directly to Naples from Paris after international flight. Heading to
the farthest point sometimes saves valuable vacation time.
Have your friend take you to Christmas Alley in Naples.
Fly in to Paris and out of Rome. Train the rest.
Paris - 3 nts
Strasbourg - 2 nts
Bern or Luzern - 1 nts
Milan - 2 nts
Naples - 3 nts
Rome - 3 nts
Thanks for the feedback! I appreciate it~
I would also compare price and schedule to fly into Strasbourg or Basel/Mulhouse airport, if that would allow you to skip one TGV ticket to/from Paris.
