I am going to Germany & am fortunate to be able to stay with my neice in her dorm room. As I will be sleeping on the floor I need an air matteress & sleeping bag. Can I buy these in Munich, is there a store close to the airport?

Hi,
I don't know about the airport. How about a store close to the main train station, München Hauptbahnhof? If yes, I suggest the dept. store that is attached to the station, ie., you can access it from the station through the underground passage: Karstadt.

Real might have something like that. If not, look for an outdoors store. You can probably find one with all the usual chain stores on the outskirts of the city (usually near the larger grocery stores).

There is a big Globetrotter-Ausrüstung store pretty centrally at Isartorplatz 8-10.

Perhaps turn it around and ask your niece to visit the outdoor store near her dorm and use a possible student discount to get it for you, all set up, before you arrive? Then give her the money and a nice meal to say thanks?

Yea, just have your niece buy these items at a local sporting goods store ahead of time.
