Is it possible to purchase the Stonhedge audio in advance of going there? If so please let me know where I can buy it. I am also looking for one for an audio cd or ipod for Avebury stones and the town of Bath. Any help would be great! Thanks in advance!
Do you mean the audio that is provided at Stonehenge with the price of admission? Because frankly I wouldn't use it for anything other than a sleep aid on the airplane ride. After ten minutes I stopped bothering to listen. As for Bath, I don't know about any general audio tours of the town, but when you go to the Roman Baths, I highly recommend the audio device. There are two "tracks" on the device: one is the standard historical information which is useful, especially as you are standing there and it tells you what you are looking at. The second, concurrent track, is author Bill Bryson's humorous and quirky views on the same subject and is definitely worth the time it takes to play both tracks one after the other. It really makes the visit equally fun and informative.
