Staying in Bensheim, like to visit Amsterdam and Paris

Hello!!! We will be arriving in Bensheim in July , there are 4 of us traveling. 2 of us want to spend a day/night in Paris and the other 2 a day/night in Amsterdam, along with spending a day in Heildelburg and Heppenheim if possible. Need help on train tickets.... when i look up on Deutsche Bahn , i show a day/night trip to either is around 400.00. Is this correct??? Is there a cheaper way to plan this for us? Any help is appreciated, we are not sure how things work in Germany and want to make sure we are not spending more than we need to.

I think you're best off taking a local Db to Strasbourg. From there, I think you can get a high speed to Paris. From Paris, you can get a fast train to Amsterdam. Getting back, that may be the best route or you might be able to find something that goes through Germany. I've purchased tickets from RailEurope, because it's easy, as well as tickets through the train systems directly. Booking ahead is cheaper, often a lot cheaper, for the high speed trains. I would always try booking directly with the rail line first before going to Rail Europe, they tack on about 10 percent for their service.

If you have time, visit cute Zwingenberg on die Bergstrasse! Very nice little place with a charming town square and picturesque church on the hill overlooking the town.
